MY RESEARCH
In August of 2018, I participated in the Summer Intensive Training in Puppetry at the Sandglass Puppet Theatre in Putney, VT, run by Eric and Ines Bass. This was a two week immersion in puppet animation and the conception, creation, and performance of two different Puppet Compositions on the themes of Separation and Reunification. This work fed directly into the NAU Fall Production of The Secret Garden for which I designed, built, and coached the puppetry of the Robin.

In January of 2013, I studied Wayang Kulit with the Dell'Arte School's Bali Program. This trip gave me a tantalizing taste of this ancient art form. Following my return to Flagstaff, I taught a Shadow Puppet class inspired by the work we did in Bali. The students adapted, designed, and performed four folk tales from around the world. In the fall of 2013 I had an article (link provided below) published in TD&T that was a combination of research and reflections on my experiences in Bali.
